SALT LAKE CITY — Authorities in Arizona have located a vehicle believed to be involved in an Amber Alert issued out of Idaho Monday afternoon.

Multiple law enforcement agencies surrounded the black 2015 Audi A4 4D near Surprize, Arizona, Monday night, according to KPNX news. Officers had set a perimeter around the vehicle and were searching the subjects of the Amber Alert: Sandra Rios-Chavez, 17, and Miguel Rodriguez-Perez, 18.

Authorities in Idaho issued the Amber Alert earlier in the day because they believed Rios-Chavez may have been forcibly abducted by Rodriguez-Perez on Sunday.

Rios-Chavez was last seen about 6 p.m. Sunday in the parking lot of a Wendy’s restaurant at 2816 S. Lincoln Street in Jerome, Idaho, according to a news release from Idaho State Police. She is believed to be in danger, authorities said.

Rios-Chavez formerly had a relationship with Rodriguez-Perez, but there is currently a no-contact order in place between the two, according to Jerome Police Chief Dan Hall.

Authorities thought the two may be headed toward Las Vegas. Then on Monday evening, Rodriguez-Perez's phone was pinged in Kingman, Arizona, according to a tweet from the Arizona Department of Transportation.

Rodriguez-Perez is believed to have family members in Arizona, which is why authorities believe he could have been traveling that way, Hall said.

Rios-Chavez is described as Hispanic with black hair and brown eyes, according to the news release. She is 5 feet 3 inches tall and weighs 122 pounds. She may be wearing a Wendy’s uniform.

Rodriguez-Perez is described as Hispanic with black hair and brown eyes. He is 6 feet tall and weighs 180 pounds. He has a tattoo on each of his arms, authorities said. It is not known what he is wearing.

Rodriguez-Perez is known to drive a black 2015 Audi A4 4D with Idaho license plate 2J83179, authorities said.

Police were working with law enforcement authorities in Arizona, as well as the FBI, Hall said.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of either of these two is asked to call Idaho State Police at 208-324-4328 or call 911 immediately.
