SEATTLE (AP) — King County authorities are investigating a collision between two boats off Vashon Island that left one person dead and four others injured.
KOMO reports the crash occurred Saturday evening as the boats were returning from the Tacoma Dome in the Quarter Master Harbor area.
Sgt. Ryan Abbott with the King County Sheriff's Office says one boat with several people aboard was traveling about a mile off the island when it struck the other boat, which was moored with no lights.
No one was hurt on the moored boat.
The 28-year-old driver of the other boat was thrown off. Authorities say the man died despite life-saving efforts.
Authorities say four other people were injured and taken to Harborview Medical Center.
