WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah (AP) — Police in a Salt Lake City suburb say a 70-year-old man has been arrested on charges accusing him of sexual abusing at least seven children in the 1980s and 1990s.

A West Valley Police Department statement says David Allen Williams was arrested Wednesday on 23 counts of second-degree felony sexual abuse of a child and two counts of first-degree felony object rape of a child.

According to police, the charges stem from incidents involving children who ranged in age from 4 to 12 years old and that the investigation began when one of the alleged victims submitted a report in October.

Police say it's possible there were additional victims who haven't yet been identified.

Online court records don't list an attorney for Williams who could comment on the allegations.
