DURHAM, N.C. (AP) — Point guard Tre Jones has been upgraded to probable for No. 2 Duke's game against Georgia Tech after missing two games with a right shoulder injury. Coach Mike Krzyzewski updated Jones' status and says he has progressed well. Jones separated his AC joint in a collision with Syracuse's Frank Howard early in an overtime loss to Syracuse on Jan. 14. Testing revealed the injury was not as severe as originally feared. Jones leads the ACC in both assists and assist-to-turnover ratio.
SYRACUSE, N.Y. (AP) — The college basketball on-campus attendance record is expected to be broken when No. 2 Duke visits Syracuse in February. The university says the Feb. 23 game against the Blue Devils in the Carrier Dome is sold out. More seating was added this season, so it's expected the current record of 35,446 will be eclipsed. The total will be announced during the game. Syracuse aims for another attendance record two days later when the No. 13 Orange women host top-ranked Notre Dame.
MOBILE, Ala. (AP) — Drew Lock, Daniel Jones and the other Senior Bowl quarterbacks have spent the week practicing with new teammates and learning a simplified NFL offense. Now, the NFL prospects get to play an actual game Saturday, even though most of the league's coaches, scouts and executives high-tailed it out of town long before kickoff. It's still part of the weeklong evaluation process.
