SALT LAKE CITY — If you've ever wanted to take rising Jazz star Donovan Mitchell home with you, now you have a chance.
Well, sort of.
You just have to get in touch the Salt Lake City Stars, the Utah Jazz's NBA G League affiliate.
The Stars unveiled an exclusive Donovan Mitchell bobblehead Friday, announcing it as a ticket promotion for fans who purchase tickets to the club's March 1 home game against the Agua Caliente Clippers.
Count Mitchell himself as a fan of the figurine, which includes the second-year NBA star’s trademark "Spida" nickname, a Spiderman-style web shooter attached to a basketball, and a replica of Darrell Griffith’s No. 35 throwback jersey similar to the one the 2018 NBA Slam Dunk Contest champion wore en route to his rookie-year title.
"I like the web; the web is a nice touch," Mitchell said. "And it has the Darrell Griffith jersey from the Dunk Contest. That was a pretty memorable moment for me, and to have this (bobblehead) is awesome. I love it."
It’s part of a larger promotion for "Utah Jazz Night" at the Stars game, sponsored by University of Utah Health. Fans can purchase two tickets for $25, with one bobblehead included in the package.
The Stars (14-14), who play home games at Salt Lake Community College’s Bruin Arena in Taylorsville, have home games Friday against the Long Island Nets and Monday, Jan. 28 against the Oklahoma City Blue. All games are streamed live on ESPN+, with some games available via Facebook Live.
