CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (AP) — Gonzaga coach Mark Few is hoping a tough nonconference schedule has the Bulldogs ready for the rest of the season. The fourth-ranked Bulldogs have lost two straight games after a loss at No. 12 North Carolina. They also lost to No. 3 Tennessee. Earlier this season, they beat highly ranked Duke to win the Maui Invitational. The week's AP Top 25 schedule also included top-ranked Kansas' win against No. 17 Villanova in a matchup of a Final Four game last season.
SOUTH BEND, Ind. (AP) — Marina Mabrey had 21 points and 10 assists, her roommate Arike Ogunbowale had 13 points and 11 rebounds, and No. 2 Notre Dame beat Binghamton 103-53. Jackie Young also scored 21 points for the Irish, adding six rebounds and seven assists. Ogunbowale became the fifth player to move over 2,000 career points under coach Muffet McGraw, who is now within three victories of 900 for her career, including 809 wins in 32 years at Notre Dame.
CORAL GABLES, Fla. (AP) — Emese Hof scored 20 points, Beatrice Mompremier picked up her seventh double-double of the season and No. 24 Miami defeated Maryland-Eastern Shore 71-53. Mompremier had 13 points and 14 rebounds for the Hurricanes (9-2), who never trailed after scoring the first seven points of the game and raced to a 15-2 lead.
BOSTON (AP) — Chris Herren, Jr. scored a season-high 22 points and Wynston Tabbs had 20 to offset a rough shooting day by scoring leader Ky Bowman, and Boston College beat Fairfield 77-67. Nik Popovic added 11 points and 10 rebounds for the Eagles, who won for the sixth time in their last seven games. Bowman scored 19 points on 4 of 17 shooting. He missed 11 of his initial 13 shots from the floor. He had 12 rebounds.
