LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) — Jordan Nwora scored 22 points and Louisville had to fend off Lipscomb in the closing minute for a 72-68. Malik Williams added 10 points and 13 rebounds for Louisville (7-3), which rebounded from a 68-67 loss at Indiana that snapped a three-game win streak.

UNDATED (AP) — Temple has hired Miami defensive coordinator Manny Diaz as its next head coach, a person familiar with the negotiations told The Associated Press. The person spoke to the AP on condition of anonymity because the school was planning to make the deal official Thursday, with a news conference scheduled on campus at 3 p.m. EST to introduce the Owls new football coach.

BOSTON (AP) — Ky Bowman scored 24 points, Nik Popovic had 22 with a season-high 14 rebounds and Boston College beat Columbia 82-73. Wynston Tabbs added 19 points for the Eagles. BC has won five of six games. Bowman added 10 rebounds. Patrick Tape led the Lions with 17 points. Randy Brumant and Quinton Adlesh each scored 16. Bowman nailed a 3-pointer, hit two free throws and had a breakaway layup in the closing 2 ½ minutes to help BC avoid an upset.

ATLANTA (AP) — Georgia Tech players say they'll have extra motivation to send coach Paul Johnson out with a win when they play Minnesota in the Quick Lane Bowl. The 61-year-old Johnson announced on Nov. 28 he is stepping down after 11 seasons with the Yellow Jackets. The bowl game will be Johnson's farewell before former Temple coach Geoff Collins takes over the team.
