SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Authorities say two people are in custody in connection with an armed robbery in Layton last month. Layton police say detectives recently identified one of the suspects and arrested him Saturday without incident while serving a search warrant at a residence. They say 18-year-old Nathan Hickerson was booked into the Davis County Jail on suspicion of investigation of aggravated robbery and discharge of a firearm. Police say a 17-year-old boy also was booked into juvenile detention.

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — The incoming Salt Lake County recorder brings 15 years of experience working in the county clerk's office as she takes over an office that went through serious turmoil in recent years as the health of the late Gary Ott worsened. Democrat Rashelle Hobbs said she hopes to bring stability and a sense of team to the office. Hobbs defeated Republican Adam Gardiner, who had been appointed to the position after Ott died last year after being diagnosed with Alzheimer's.

LAS VEGAS (AP) — With drought continuing and reservoirs shrinking, seven Southwestern U.S. states that depend on the Colorado River had been expected to ink a crucial share-the-pain contingency plan by the end of 2018. Officials now say they're not going to make it _ at least not in time for upcoming meetings in Las Vegas involving representatives from Arizona, California, Colorado, Nevada, New Mexico, Utah, Wyoming and the U.S. government.

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — A male registered nurse convicted of sexually abusing female patients at Salt Lake City-area hospitals has been sentenced to maximum sentences that will keep him in prison at least 11 years and possibly for life. Judge Vernice Trease sentenced 55-year-old Adam Tae Kyun Lim of Herriman on Friday to two five-year-to-life terms for convictions of object rape and to 1-15 years for forcible sexual abuse.
