CONWAY, S.C. (AP) — Zac Cuthbertson scored 18 points to lead six scorers into double figures as Coastal Carolina cruised to an easy 91-47 victory over Division III Ferrum in the season opener Tuesday night.

The Chanticleers muscled their way to the win, scoring more than half their points inside while shooting 52 percent from the field, knocking down 32 of 61 shots. They also held a commanding advantage on the boards, outrebounding Ferrum 39-24.

Cuthbertson hit 7 of 10 shots from the floor, including a pair of powerful dunks, and grabbed seven rebounds before taking a seat with 10 minutes left.

David Pierce added 12 points for Coastal Carolina. Tommy Burton added 11 while DeVante Jones, Amidu Bamba and Tyrell Gumbs-Frater each added 10.

Trey Barnhardt was 5-for-6 from behind the 3-point line to lead Ferrum with 17 points. Rashad Reed added 14.
