SALT LAKE CITY — Just when it appeared that the Pac-12 standings were settling, they shifted.

While Washington State tops the Pac-12’s North division, the South is an entirely different story. Arizona State upset Utah to shuffle the standings. Now Utah, USC, Arizona and Arizona State all have three losses in the conference. The next few weeks are vital for South teams in a division that’s up for grabs.

Here’s a look at how the Pac-12 performed in Week 10.

Game recap: Arizona led by two points at the half before Colorado regained the lead in the third quarter to make it 31-26. The Wildcats answered with a 39-yard touchdown pass, although their 2-point conversion failed, and a 41-yard field goal to go ahead. The Buffs cut the Wildcats’ lead with a field goal of their own and tried to make one more push late in the game but was intercepted at the 1-yard line on third-and-10 to eventually give Arizona the win.

Key stat: Arizona quarterback Khalil Tate threw for a career-high 350 yards and five touchdowns.

Conference implication: Arizona is peaking at the right time as it’s one game away from becoming bowl eligible.

Arizona State (5-4, 3-3) vs No. 16 Utah (6-3, 4-3)

Score: Arizona State 38, Utah 20

Game recap: Arizona State got off to an early lead, scoring two touchdowns before Utah responded with 17 unanswered points. The Utes’ advantage was short lived, and they wouldn’t get ahead of the Sun Devils for the rest of the game. Quarterback Manny Wilkins found receiver N’Keal Harry for a 23-yard touchdown just before halftime to give the Sun Devils a 21-17 lead at the half. After Matt Gay’s 31-yard field goal, Utah cut Arizona State’s lead. However, the Sun Devils got to work in the fourth quarter, scoring 17 points and denying the Utes to get on the board, to pull off the upset.

Key stat: Arizona State finished with three takeaways, helping the team own the time of possession with nearly 37 minutes.

Conference implication: Arizona State’s Wilkins, Harry and Eno Benjamin performed big when they needed to. Together they can push the team to fight for the division title if they win out.

Utah came into the game owning the South. With this loss, the Utes lost sole possession of first place in the division and quarterback Tyler Huntley to a reportedly broken collarbone. With Huntley likely out for the season, the Utes are in trouble.

Quarterback Gardner Minshew drove the Cougars 69 yards to a touchdown to win the game with 32 seconds left.

California’s defense gave Washington State’s air raid a tough time until the end.

Next opponent: Washington State travels to Colorado on Saturday. California travels to USC on Saturday.

Key stat: Oregon quarterback Justin Herbert threw for 264 yards and two touchdowns.

Conference implication: Oregon became bowl eligible with this win.

Next opponent: Oregon travels to Utah on Saturday. UCLA travels to Arizona State on Saturday.

Oregon State (2-7, 1-5) vs USC (5-4, 4-3)

Score: USC 38, Oregon State 21

Key stat: Ware rushed for 205 yards and three touchdowns, including runs of 57 and 62 yards.

Conference implication: USC needs one more win to become bowl eligible. The Trojans aren’t out of division title talks yet as they’re mixed with Arizona, Arizona State and Utah with three losses each.

Oregon State looked better with quarterback Jake Luton under center. The Beavers need him to stay healthy, so they can hopefully finish their season on a bright note.

Stanford (5-4, 3-3) at Washington (7-3, 5-2)

Score: Washington 27, Stanford 23

Game recap: Up 21-0, Washington suddenly played conservatively after halftime and let Stanford get in the game. The Cardinal came within 27-23 with 3:24 left in the game. The Huskies couldn’t run out the clock and was forced to punt with 2:05 left. Quarterback K.J. Costello completed five passes to get Stanford to Washington’s 10-yard line with 10 seconds remaining. On the game’s last play, Costello was intercepted at the goal line and Washington won.

Key stat: In his return after missing two games due to a shoulder injury, Washington running back Myles Gaskin rushed for 148 yards and a touchdown.

Conference implication: Washington still has a way to win the division. With a bye week next, the Huskies have a favorable win against Oregon State before a matchup against in-state rival Washington State. A win against the Beavers could give the Huskies a chance at winning the North if they win the Apple Cup.

This game was basically an elimination game in the league’s North division race. Stanford has lost four regular season games in consecutive seasons for the first time since 2008-2009.

Next opponent: Washington enters its bye week before hosting Oregon State on Saturday, Nov. 17. Stanford hosts Oregon State on Saturday.
