PACKING BOJANGLES — Sometimes the best things about college football on a Saturday afternoon have nothing to do with what went on between the white lines.

That’s where we come in.

As always, click the video above for all of our favorite moments from the weekend in football in this week’s Great Clips of the Week.

Cosmo does it again 🐾

There was nothing pretty about BYU’s 7-6 loss to Northern Illinois, when the offense was held out of the end zone and the defense failed to earn a takeaway against the Huskies.

The best player on the field at LaVell Edwards Stadium was Cosmo.

We’ve written about Cosmo before in his myriad of viral hits. Go here. Or here. Or even here.

But he keeps doing it — this time in a Halloween-themed mashup with the Cougarettes, dancing to Michael Jackson’s "Thriller," that included a moonwalk and a mean split to cap it off.

So if you are concerned about your football program, BYU fans, don't worry — you'll always have the mascot.

Mike Gundy spins another gem 📣

Mike Gundy has never been shy about his feelings.

The Oklahoma State football coach may be the most quotable in college football this side of Washington State’s Mike Leach. Among Gundy's classics is his epic rant that included the words, “I’m a man, I’m 40!” that just turned a decade old.

He’s back.

After the Cowboys’ 38-35 win over No. 6 Texas this weekend, Gundy was asked about how his players face criticism, specifically from Twitter and social media.

He responded not with words, but rather with a noise.

“I don’t give a rat’s (expletive) about Twitter,” Gundy said. “It’s a platform for people that are sitting at home drawing an unemployment check, sitting in front of a keyboard.”

Gundy later continued by saying "I just kind of felt like social media, Twitter’s what destroying this country anyway, so that’s how I feel about it, from politics to sports to whatever."

I guess we won't see Gundy live-tweeting the Oscars next year.

'Eat Mor Chikin' 🐔

The next time you go to a football game and stare at the concessions menu with prices that swell to double-digits for a hot dog that should cost $2, at most, we’ve got your back.

Or at least, one legendary fan of the Carolina Panthers has your back, packing in a tub of Bojangles' chicken inside a clear-bag-policy-approved backpack for his own non-commercial use during the game.

Welcome to the South, indeed.

There was only one problem: The fan didn’t pack enough chicken. His stash didn't make it past the front gates, according to an additional update.

Well, it's the thought that counts.

Ummm ... wow 😲

The first College Football Playoff rankings come out Tuesday in a primetime special on ESPN.

We won’t debate those vanity reveal shows in this platform.

Because the only rankings that matter are Best Play rankings — and Arizona State wide receiver N’Keal Harry already won it.

During the Sun Devils' 38-35 win over USC on Saturday, the freshman from Chandler, Arizona, (and the same high school as BYU quarterback commit Jacob Conover) pulled out all the stops, catching four passes for 94 yards and a touchdown, scored on a 92-yard punt return — and made a highlight-reel catch that made SportsCenter’s Top 10, and will be tough to beat all season.

Harry and ASU will host No. 16 Utah at 1 p.m. MST Saturday in the Valley of the Sun. The game will be broadcast on the Pac-12 Network.
