BOSTON (AP) — AJ Dillon carried it 32 times for 149 yards and a touchdown, Anthony Brown threw for a score and ran for another and Boston College beat Miami 27-14. It was only BC's fourth victory in its last 22 meetings against Miami. Brown went 15 of 28 for 152 yards with an interception, and Jeff Smith had a TD catch for the Eagles (6-2, 3-1 ACC).

BOSTON (AP) — After spending two seasons in the ACC cellar, Boston College finished above .500 last year for the first time since 2011. The Eagles even picked up a signature win, upsetting No. 1 Duke in Chestnut Hill. Now coach Jim Christian is hoping that preseason All-ACC guard Ky Bowman can lead the team back to the NCAA Tournament for the first time in a decade.

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (AP) — Syracuse hosts No. 22 North Carolina State on Saturday night. Both teams need just one win to become eligible for the postseason. Syracuse hasn't played in a bowl game in five years.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) — Wake Forest and Louisville are both looking for their first win in Atlantic Coast Conference play this football season. Louisville is coming off a bye, while Wake Forest looks to end a two-game slide.

DURHAM, N.C. (AP) — No. 4 Duke is relying on yet another collection of likely one-and-done players to replace the group that left the program after a season. The Blue Devils brought in the nation's consensus No. 1 recruiting class led by Zion Williamson and R.J. Barrett. Expectations are always high at Duke, which plans to run a version of the motion offense made popular by the NBA champion Golden State Warriors.

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (AP) — Eighth-ranked North Carolina must find reliable play at point guard if it wants to reach its potential as an Atlantic Coast Conference title contender. The Tar Heels must replace multi-year starter Joel Berry II. Junior Seventh Woods and freshman Coby White are the main contenders for the job.

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (AP) — Syracuse coach Jim Boeheim will begin his 43rd year at his alma mater. His team returns all five starters from last year's Sweet 16 team. Leading-scorer Tyus Battle is back after flirting with the NBA to lead a team that's expected to have a much quicker offensive pace and maybe an even better defense. The Orange are ranked 16th in the preseason.

UNDATED (AP) — Virginia and coach Tony Bennett have pledged to remember the end to last year's basketball season, just not dwell on it. The Cavaliers rose to No. 1, then became the first top seed in NCAA Tournament history to lose in the first round. They finished 31-3, and Bennett says focusing too much on their failure would be a mistake.
