SALT LAKE CITY — Pepperidge Farm is recalling over 3 million units of its Goldfish crackers due to the potential presence of salmonella, the company said in a statement Monday.
Pepperidge Farm officials said the company was notified by one of its ingredient suppliers that the whey powder used in seasoning four varieties of the crackers could have salmonella, according to the statement.
“Pepperidge Farm initiated an investigation and, out of an abundance of caution, is voluntarily recalling four varieties of Goldfish crackers,” the company statement says.
The four varieties of recalled crackers include:
- Flavor Blasted Xtra Cheddar
- Flavor Blasted Sour Cream & Onion
- Goldfish Baked with Whole Grain Xtra Cheddar
- Goldfish Mix Xtra Cheddar + Pretzel
Customers who purchased any recalled product should not eat them, the statement says. Recalled products should be discarded or may be returned to the place of purchase for a full refund.
