METAIRIE, La. (AP) — The New Orleans Pelicans have signed Trevon Bluiett to a two-way contract after the rookie guard averaged 18.3 points in four NBA Summer League games.
The contract, announced by the club on Tuesday, means Bluiett will spend most of the season in the developmental G League, but can be called up periodically for a total of 45 days.
The 6-foot-5 Bluiett joined the Pelicans' Summer League team after going undrafted out of Xavier of Ohio last month.
Bluiett shot nearly 57 percent during Summer League games in Las Vegas, including nearly 54 percent from 3-point range.
Bluiett spent four seasons at Xavier, averaging 15.9 points. As a senior, he averaged 19.3 points, shooting 41.7 percent from 3-point range.
