WASHINGTON (AP) — Washington Nationals reliever Brandon Kintzler left Saturday's game against the San Francisco Giants in the eighth inning with an apparent injury.

Kintzler faced three batters after entering with one out in the eighth, hitting Gorkys Hernandez with a pitch before getting Alen Hanson to fly out. Buster Posey then doubled to right, and Washington manager Dave Martinez and a team athletic trainer quickly went to the mound.

Closer Sean Doolittle recorded the final out of the inning after replacing Kintzler, an All-Star selection last year with Minnesota who is 1-2 with a 4.45 ERA in 31 appearances this season.
