STOCKHOLM (AP) — The sporting director of the Swedish Football Federation says Zlatan Ibrahimovic will not make a comeback for the World Cup.

Lars Richt says he spoke with Ibrahimovic two days ago and "he informed me that he hadn't changed his mind about the national side."

Ibrahimovic retired from international soccer in 2016 after scoring a national record of 62 goals in 116 games. The striker, who recently joined the LA Galaxy, has hinted that he could make a return to the national team for the World Cup in Russia.

Sweden coach Janne Andersson is expected to name his team on May 15.
