PHOENIX (AP) — The Latest on teacher protests in Arizona (all times local):

Organizers for Arizona teachers say more than a thousand schools participated in a statewide early-morning demonstration to demand higher pay and better classroom funding.
Arizona Educators United says the "walk-ins" were held at 1,112 schools in 130 districts across the state. The demonstrations saw teachers march arm-in-arm into school wearing red shirts as part of the #RedforEd campaign.
Teachers are demanding 20 percent pay raise and an additional $1 billion for public education after what they say is years of underfunding by the state Legislature.
The state Department of Education says Arizona has 1,700 traditional public schools and more than 500 charter schools.
Arizona teachers are among the lowest paid in the nation. The pay push comes amid a national wave of educators demanding higher pay and increased school funding.
