FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. (AP) — The Atlanta Falcons have agreed to terms on a three-year contract extension with kicker Matt Bryant.

The Falcons announced the agreement before Bryant could become a free agent on March 14.

In nine seasons with the Falcons, Bryant has made 88.1 percent of his field goal attempts — 230 of 261 — and has missed only one of 340 extra points.

Bryant, who will turn 43 on May 29, made 34 of 37 field goals in 2016 and 34 of 39 in 2017. He made eight of nine field goals from at least 50 yards last season.

Bryant passed Morten Andersen to become the team's all-time scoring leader in 2016, when Bryant was named to his first Pro Bowl.
