FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (AP) — Arkansas forward Dustin Thomas has been dismissed from the team for an unspecified violation of team rules.
Coach Mike Anderson said the dismissal is effective immediately, just days before Arkansas (21-10) opens at the Southeastern Conference Tournament against either South Carolina or Mississippi on Thursday.
Thomas was averaging five points and 4.1 rebounds per game this season for the Razorbacks, and he started 17 games. The 6-foot-8 senior played his first two seasons at Colorado before transferring to Arkansas, where he averaged 5.3 points and 3.8 rebounds per game last season.
Thomas was suspended for the first three games this season, also for violating team rules. He later didn't play in two SEC games, though Anderson insisted Thomas wasn't suspended.
