ABILENE, Texas (AP) — Joseph Kilgore scored 24 points and Texas A&M-Corpus Christi defeated Abilene Christian 76-67 on Thursday night.

The game was originally to be played Wednesday but was postponed because of icy road conditions.

Myles Smith added 13 points, Kareem South 12 and Elijah Schmidt had 11 points with nine rebounds.

The Islanders (9-16, 6-9 Southland) rank last in the nation in attempted 3-pointers and missed all nine of their attempts against the Wildcats (15-13, 7-8), but shot 50 percent overall and made 18 of 22 free throws in snapping a four-game losing streak. The Islanders scored 29 points off 16 turnovers that included 10 steals.

Jaylen Franklin scored 21 points and Jaren Lewis 17 for Abilene Christian, which made just 4 of 24 from the arc.

The Wildcats were within four with 1:07 left in the game but turned the ball over twice while Kilgore had a jumper, a dunk and two free throws.

The Islanders outscored the Wildcats 22-7 over the final 8:43 of the first half for a 43-32 lead.
