MACON, Ga. (AP) — Jordan Strawberry scored 27 points and Ross Cummings made four 3-pointers in adding 23 to lead Mercer to a 77-74 victory over UNC Greensboro on Saturday.

Strawberry blocked a dunk attempt then converted a 3-point play on the other end and Cummings added a 3-pointer during an 8-0 run that gave Mercer a 63-60 lead.

Cummings made another 3-pointer and Strawberry scored nine of Mercer's final 11 points, including two free throws with six seconds left for the final score before Francis Alonso missed two 3-point chances.

Strawberry made all 11 of his free throws and the Bears (15-13, 8-7 Southern Conference) hit 24 of 29 in addition to shooting 53.5 percent from the field.

Alonso made four of the Spartans' 12 3-pointers and scored 18 points to lead UNCG (21-7, 12-3), which remained in second place in the conference but fell two games behind East Tennessee State.
