BROOKINGS, S.D. (AP) — Mike Daum hit the 30-point plateau for the 10th time this season and South Dakota State won its 14th straight home game, beating Western Illinois 82-62 Saturday afternoon to hold onto first place in the Summit League standings.

The Jackrabbits have a one-game lead with two games left to play, including a first-place showdown with rival South Dakota Thursday and the regular-season finale at Fort Wayne Saturday.

South Dakota State (23-6, 11-1) took a 15-point lead at intermission and cruised to the win.

Daum hit 8 of 15 from the field, including 3 of 5 from beyond the 3-point arc, and converted 11 of 15 from the line. David Jenkins Jr. added 20 points and grabbed seven rebounds and Brandon Key and Tevin King added 11 and 10 points, respectively.,

Isaac Johnson scored 20 points and grabbed 13 rebounds to lead the Leathernecks (11-14, 2-10). C.J. Duff added 12 points.
