VMI holds off The Citadel behind Parham's 25 points

CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) — Bubba Parham scored 25 points with four steals, Myles Lewis added 11 points, and VMI held off The Citadel 75-71 on Saturday to end a five-game skid and snap a two-game losing streak against the Bulldogs.

Jordan Ratliffe scored nine points with six rebounds for the Keydets (8-18, 3-12).

Matt Frierson scored six straight, Kaelon Harris hit a transition 3, and The Citadel led 71-70 on Zane Najdawi's jumper with 59 seconds left.

Austin Vereen's 3 with 33 seconds to go put VMI up by two and Jordan Ratliffe iced it with two free throws. Friereson missed a 3 and Frankie Johnson missed two free throws in the final four seconds.

Najdawi scored 23 points with 14 rebounds and Frierson added 20 points with four 3s for the Bulldogs (9-18, 4-11), who have lost four straight. Frierson has made 98 3s for the second-most, single-season total in program history, eclipsing Noy Castillo's mark in 1994-95. Travis Cantrell (2001-02) holds the record at 102.
