LOS ANGELES (AP) — Southern California forward Bennie Boatwright will miss the rest of the season after injuring his left knee against Oregon.

The school said Friday that Boatwright will be sidelined several months although surgery is not expected.

The junior was averaging 13.6 points and 6.4 rebounds, both second on the team.

He missed 17 of USC's first 22 games last year, first while recovering from a labrum injury sustained over the summer and then after spraining a ligament in his left knee in a game.

Boatwright is 22 points away from 1,000 in his career.
