Henry's free throw lifts SIU-Edwardsville over Tenn-Martin

MARTIN, Tenn. (AP) — Keenan Simmons scored 25 points on 12-of-12 shooting, Jalen Henry added 12 points, including the winning free throw with 16 seconds left, and SIU-Edwardsville beat Tennessee-Martin 70-69 on Thursday night to end a five-game skid in the series against the Skyhawks.

After 10 lead changes and 13 ties, Darius Thompson hit a free throw for a 69-68 Skyhawks lead with 59 seconds to play. Thompson fouled Henry, who hit two from the line. Jailen Gill missed a jumper with one second left and Henry grabbed the rebound.

David McFarland had four steals for the Cougars (9-17, 5-10 Ohio Valley Conference), who scored 17 points off of 15 Skyhawks turnovers and held a 17-8 advantage on fast-break points.

Simmons scored 21 points in the first half and the Cougars led 41-34 at halftime.

DelFincko Bogan scored 22 points with four 3-pointers for Tennessee-Martin (9-19, 4-11) and Matthew Butler added 17 points.
