Taylor, Cacok lead UNC Wilmington to 87-63 win over Elon

WILMINGTON, N.C. (AP) — Ty Taylor II had 19 points and Devontae Cacok added 17 with 21 rebounds as UNC Wilmington got off to a fast start and easily defeated Elon 87-63 on Thursday night.

Taylor grabbed eight rebounds with four assists and two steals. Cacok, the nation's leading rebounder, had nine offensive boards while pulling down 12 at the defensive end to complete his 19th double-double of the season. Jordon Talley nailed 5 of 7 from distance for 15 points and Jaylen Fornes added 13 for UNC Wilmington (9-18, 6-9 Colonial Athletic Association).

UNC Wilmington had four players reach double figures in the first half as the Seahawks shot 59 percent (19-32) from the floor to soar to a 54-36 halftime advantage. Elon never mounted a charge in the second half as the Seahawks led 67-43 with 12:00 left.

Tyler Seibring led Elon (14-13, 6-8) with 18 points and eight rebounds. Dainan Swoope added 14.
