ST. LOUIS (AP) — An adjunct professor who was tackled during a college board meeting last fall has been acquitted of peace disturbance.
The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that a St. Louis municipal judge on Wednesday acquitted 53-year-old Steve Taylor, a former a math instructor at St. Louis Community College.
Taylor was arrested in October at a meeting after he allegedly "charged" toward the area where board members and the chancellor were sitting.
Taylor says he is relieved by the verdict. The college declined comment, citing pending litigation in a lawsuit filed by Taylor.
Taylor has said he was only moving forward while speaking to the board when he was tackled by a community college officer. Police said in a report that Taylor "aggressively forced his way toward board members."
