UCF beats South Florida 72-57 in the War On I-4

ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) — A.J. Davis had a career-high 26 points and nine rebounds, B.J. Taylor added 21 points with six assists and Central Florida beat South Florida 72-57 on Wednesday night in the War On I-4.

Dayon Griffin chipped in 12 points for UCF (16-9, 7-6 American), which made a season-high nine 3-pointers — with a career-high three from Davis.

Terrell Allen, Taylor and Griffin each made a 3-pointer during a four-possession stretch to extend UCF's lead to 53-42 midway through the second half.

In the last meeting, UCF came out on top 71-69 on Jan. 20 in its first contest without Tacko Fall. The Knights also played without Davis, but Taylor was in his second game back from injury and scored 25.

David Collins led USF (8-19, 1-13) with 15 points and Isaiah Manderson added 13. The Bulls have lost six straight in the series, with their last win coming in 2015.
