NORFOLK, Va. (AP) — Kyle Williams scored 20 points, Derrik Jamerson Jr. added 19 and each made five 3-pointers in Norfolk State's 93-58 victory over Delaware State on Monday night.
Delaware State led 16-5 with 13:17 remaining in the first half but Norfolk State used a 43-9 spurt to take a 48-25 lead at the break. Williams scored 15 points in the first half with four 3-pointers.
Nic Thomas chipped in four 3-pointers and 13 points for Norfolk State (9-17, 7-4 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference), which was 14 of 28 from distance. Preston Bungei had 12 points, Alex Long 11 and Steven Whitley had eight points and nine assists.
Norfolk State scored 30 points off 20 Delaware State turnovers.
Artem Tavakalyan had 17 points and eight rebounds for Delaware State (2-24, 0-11). Johquin Wiley added 12 points on four 3-pointers. The Hornets were 13 of 23 behind the arc with three apiece from Tavakalyan and Kavon Waller.
