SANTA CLARA, Calif. (AP) — The San Francisco 49ers have re-signed defensive lineman Cassius Marsh to a two-year contract.

The Niners originally claimed Marsh off waivers from New England in November and signed him Wednesday to keep him off the free-agent market next month.

Marsh played six games for San Francisco and registered 10 tackles, two sacks and two forced fumbles.

Marsh entered the league in 2014 as a fourth-round pick by Seattle. He played 37 games in three seasons with the Seahawks before getting traded to the Patriots before the start of last season. He played nine games for New England with 16 tackles, one sack, one forced fumble and one blocked field goal.
