HACKENSACK, N.J. (AP) — Darnell Edge scored 18 points and Jahlil Jenkins scored 16 and Fairleigh Dickinson held on for a 73-72 win over Mount St. Mary's on Saturday to end a four-game losing streak.
The Knights (6-13, 3-5 Northeast Conference) survived when the Mountaineers (10-11, 4-4) missed a tying free throw attempt with six seconds left and a 3-pointer at the buzzer.
Jenkins made two free throws with 14.8 seconds left to put FDU up 73-67. Junior Robinson was fouled on a 3-point attempt with 11.3 seconds remaining to cut the lead in half. Then Jonah Antonio turned a steal into an and-one layup with 6.5 seconds left. Antonio missed the free throw but Kaleb Bishop, who rebounded the missed free throw, missed his free throw with 5.3 to play. That gave Robinson a chance but his 3-pointer from the left wing was long.
Robinson scored 19 points and Antonio had 17 for the Mountaineers, and Chris Wray had 12 points and 13 rebounds.
