The following was taken from a Facebook post written by Tristin-Don Monroe.
"Last weekend our son's bike was stolen and he was heartbroken. We knew the odds were slim of getting it back, but still reported it to the NOPD with hopes that it might be returned.
Today we got a visit from the officer that took the report last weekend, and he surprised our son with a special gift. A new bike! We just wanted to thank Officer Sempsrott for making our son's year. We are beyond thankful and blown away at your kindness! Merry Christmas!!"
