SANTA BARBARA, Calif. (AP) — Max Heidegger scored 24 points and UC Santa Barbara dealt Cal State Fullerton its first conference loss with an 83-64 win on Wednesday night.

Heidegger was 10 of 15 from the field including four from distance for the Gauchos (13-5, 2-2 Big West Conference). Marcus Jackson added 19 points, Leland King II had 17 points and seven rebounds and Jalen Canty had 10 points and seven rebounds.

Heidegger sank a pair of 3-pointers and Jackson made another as part of a 13-6 start for the Gauchos and they dominated the first half, building to a 46-31 lead at the break.

King hit a jumper and Heidegger and Jackson each added a layup midway through the second half to stretch the lead to 67-43 with 8:18 to play. The Gauchos led by at least 18 points the rest of the way.

Khalil Ahmad and Kyle Allman scored 19 and 14 points, respectively, for CS Fullerton. The Titans (11-6, 4-1) were riding a four-game win streak before tonight's loss.
