SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Utah locked up the most anticipated member of its incoming recruiting class when quarterback Jack Tuttle signed on the first day of the early period.

The 6-foot-3, 200-pounder from San Marcos, California, is ranked the No. 6 pro-style quarterback in the country by the 247Sports composite score. He stayed firm with his long-time Utah commitment despite offers from USC, Alabama, LSU, Wisconsin and others.

Among others signed by the Utes are: Braeden Daniels (6-4, 284 pounds), ranked the No. 58 guard in the country out of Carrollton, Texas; Placentia, California, defensive back Malone Mataele (5-10, 177); and Miami receiver Terrell Perriman (5-11, 182).

Utah continued to work the junior college ranks, adding Pima Community College linebacker Bryant Pirtle (6-2, 227) and San Jacinto College defensive lineman Jeremiah Jordan (6-4, 233).
