New Horizons Crisis Center provides immediate shelter, safety, and wrap-around services to victims, and their families, who are homeless or have experienced domestic violence, rape, or sexual assault. Wrap-around services include referrals, education, and support groups. The agency serves a rural, underserved population in central Utah; that includes five counties. They provide education and support through numerous groups and classes. Each of the support groups focus on strengthening and empowering the victims they serve. Not only does the agency provide services for individuals who are traumatized from crimes committed against them; they also provide prevention awareness to the community. They do this by educating students about the differences between healthy and unhealthy relationships. In the past year, New Horizons Crisis Center provided shelter services for women, children and men, for more than seven thousand nights and were able to talk to more than three hundred and fifty students about prevention awareness. SelectHealth recognizes the hope and healing provided by New Horizons Crisis Center as another example of how Utah Gives Back.
