NEW YORK, Aug 31, 2006 (UPI via COMTEX) -- A museum exhibit in New York will feature the book "Bling: The Hip-Hop Jewelry Book," which details jewelry's significance in the hip-hop culture.
Beginning Sept. 8, the Black Style Now exhibit at the Museum of the City of New York will present the book from authors Reggie Ossa and Gabriel Tolliver and its representation of the affect that jewelry has had upon the hip-hop world, said AllHipHop.com.
"We're trying to show the connection to pop culture and hip-hop culture and the influences that are upon us whether we know it or not, and jewelry is one of them," said Ossa.
Featured in the book will be the jewelry of hip-hop artists such as Kanye West, Lil' Kim, 50 Cent, Fat Joe and Tupac Shakur.
The Web site said that while the museum exhibit will be featured until November, the book is to be released Oct. 31.
