BOISE, Idaho (AP) — Idaho Gov. C.L. "Butch" Otter says Jerome County officials should not be swayed by possible legal challenges as they consider leasing space in the county's new jail to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. Under the pending contract with ICE, the new Jerome County jail would set aside 50 beds for ICE at a rate of $75 per bed per day, estimated to bring in an additional $1.34 million to the rural county annually.

BOISE, Idaho (AP) — Idaho has hired St. Luke's Health System to help people choose a health plan on the online insurance exchange, even though the health care giant stands to financially benefit when customers choose certain plans. Some Your Health Idaho board members raised concerns because there is no oversight mechanism that would keep the hospital from steering customers to more lucrative plans.

SANDPOINT, Idaho (AP) — Bail was set for two Idaho men accused of shooting at two 13-year-olds, striking one on the leg. The Bonner County Daily Bee reports a judge ordered 42-year-old Leo Inwood and 52-year-old Eric Wood to be held on bail set at $30,000 each. The injured teen was treated at a hospital and released.

CALDWELL, Idaho (AP) — An Idaho nurse accused of stealing pills from nursing home residents pleaded guilty to possession of a controlled substance. The Idaho Press-Tribune reports that 32-year-old Jennifer Talich made the guilty plea for the felony charge on Tuesday as part of a deal that dropped all other charges against her.
