SALT LAKE CITY — What went wrong, BYU fans?

After a disastrous 27-0 shutout loss in the Bayou to No. 13 Louisiana State, the Cougars were sent back to Provo licking wounds and trying to dissect what went wrong.

Back in the KSL Sports studio, former BYU linebacker David Nixon and former Utah defensive lineman Christian Cox are here for the rest of us. The duo dissect every misplaced pass by Tanner Mangum, every hard-fought run en route to a minus-5 rushing performance by Ty Detmer’s running back committee, and even take a look at the fourth-and-goal stop by true freshman Khyiris Tonga.

Last Thursday up on the Hill, the Utes kicked off the Troy Williams-and-Tyler Huntley era with a 37-16 win over FCS foe North Dakota.

So much went right for Huntley, Oregon transfer Darren Carrington II at wide receiver, and the Utah offense. Will the confidence boost carry over to the Holy War rivalry in Provo this week?
