BOISE, Idaho (AP) — The mother of a man who died a week after leaving the Southwest Idaho Treatment Center in Nampa filed a lawsuit against the state-run facility claiming negligence.
The Idaho Statesman reports that Grace Rodriguez filed the lawsuit Wednesday, claiming employees at the treatment center and the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare ignored her 24-year-old son's life-threatening health conditions.
Her son Moses Rodriguez, who had severe autism, died at an Idaho hospital in November 2015. The suit states Moses Rodriguez was hospitalized three times for uncontrolled seizures while at the treatment center.
Phone and email messages left Thursday with the state Department of Health and Welfare seeking comment were not immediately returned.
