UNDATED (AP) — The preseason Top 25 is out, led by Alabama, Ohio State and Florida State. Over the last 10 years, 38 percent of the teams that started the season ranked in the AP poll ended it unranked, which comes out to about 10 teams per season. That includes an average of two top-10 teams each year that drop out of the rankings altogether. The season begins on Saturday.

UNDATED (AP) — Alabama is No. 1 in The Associated Press preseason college football poll for the second straight season and third time in five years. The Crimson Tide received 52 votes from a panel of 61 media members. Ohio State is No. 2 and Florida State is No. 3. Southern California ranked fourth, just ahead of defending national champion Clemson at No. 5.

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Sophomore Tyler Huntley will be Utah's starting quarterback after beating out senior returning starter Troy Williams. The decision to start Huntley was a bit of a surprise since Williams started all 13 games last season and was voted an offensive captain last week. Huntley of Dania, Florida, played in four games last year, passing for 60 yards and running for 15 with a touchdown.
