UNDATED (AP) — The NCAA board of governors has adopted a policy that requires annual sexual violence education for all college athletes, coaches and athletics administrators. The policy also requires campus leaders to declare that athletic departments are knowledgeable and compliant with school policies on sexual violence prevention, adjudication and resolution.

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. (AP) — Dynamic running back Saquon Barkley is one of nine starters returning to an explosive Penn State offense this season. Six defensive starters are back to take cues from rising defensive coordinator Brent Pry. Newly arriving freshmen are looking to earn a job right away during a camp that has a much more competitive feel than last season.

ANN ARBOR, Mich. (AP) — Jim Harbaugh has posted 10-3 seasons twice now and generated a lot of publicity with his outside-the-box approach at Michigan. The Wolverines have finished third in the Big Ten East the last two years and only time will tell if Harbaugh's style will lead to championships for college football's winningest program. Michigan hasn't won a Big Ten title since 2004, its longest drought in more than a half-century. The Wolverines open the season Sept. 2 against Florida.

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Wisconsin's once-enviable depth at inside linebacker will quickly be tested. The loss of Jack Cichy to a season-ending right knee injury deals a defensive blow to a team with designs on another trip to the Big Ten title game. Either Chris Orr or Ryan Connelly will likely move up to start alongside leading tackler T.J. Edwards. The Badgers open the season against Utah State on Sept. 1.

UNDATED (AP) — The first of six College Football Playoff rankings will be released on Oct. 31, following the ninth full weekend of games. The ranking will continue to be revealed each Tuesday night on ESPN for five weeks during the regular season.

EAST LANSING, Mich. (AP) — Michigan State is hoping to bounce back after a startling 3-9 showing in 2016 that was followed by a tumultuous offseason. A return to respectability would be a step forward for the Spartans. If they can make a bowl game and avoid off-field problems, these last 12 months will look like more of an aberration. The Spartans host Bowling Green on Sept. 2 to open the season.

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — The Wisconsin Badgers basketball team is headed to New Zealand and Australia for a five-game, 12-day exhibition trip. The NCAA allows teams to take foreign exhibition tours every four years. This trip comes at an especially important time for the Badgers with the roster in transition. Coach Greg Gard's squad lost four senior starters, including stars Nigel Hayes and Bronson Koenig, while a decorated recruiting class is coming in.

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Fall camp has begun at Minnesota with a rare open audition at quarterback. Half the roster is composed of redshirt or true freshmen. New schemes have been installed on both sides of the ball. There's no program in the Big Ten experiencing more drastic change this season than the Gophers, starting with their 36-year-old whirlwind coach, P.J. Fleck. They start the season at home on Aug. 31 against Buffalo.
