TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) — Florida State wide receiver Da'Vante Phillips is suspended after being charged on five felony counts related to fraud. Phillips, a junior from Miami, was booked into Leon County jail on Friday before posting bail and being released. The Leon County sheriff's office says Phillips faces four felony counts of cashing or depositing items with intent to defraud, and one felony count of grand theft of more than $300 and less than $5,000. He is expected to appear in court on Saturday.

ATLANTA (AP) — As Georgia Tech reported for the start of fall practice, there was one big question: Who will replace three-year starting quarterback Justin Thomas? Matthew Jordan believes he's up to the task, but he's got three and possibly four challengers for the No. 1 job.

CLEMSON, S.C. (AP) — Clemson started summer camp almost seven months after winning a national title. Tigers coach Dabo Swinney is excited about the group, but vows they won't spend their time reliving past success. Swinney said it's a new team with the same dream as last year's group. Whether Clemson achieves that depends on how well newcomers fill in for last year's offensive stars, especially at quarterback where junior Kelly Bryant is taking over for All-American Deshaun Watson.
