SALT LAKE CITY — The Utah Jazz announced their preseason schedule, and well, it's a little bit different than what fans might be used to.
First, the Jazz's schedule is shorter than usual. The Jazz will play only five preseason games this season, thanks to a shorter NBA preseason as mandated by the newly signed NBA collective bargaining agreement. It's the shortest Jazz preseason without a lockout since the Jazz's first in Utah in 1979.
Second, it's much more international. The Jazz will host two international teams: the Syndey Kings of Australia on Oct. 2, and Israel's Maccabi Haifa on Oct. 4th. Both games are at 7 p.m. at Vivint Arena. It's the first time international teams have ever come to Salt Lake City to play the Jazz.
Then, the Jazz play a home-and-away with the Phoenix Suns. The home contest takes place on Oct. 6 at 7 p.m., before moving to Phoenix on Oct. 9 at 8 p.m. MT. The Jazz wrap up their preseason with an away game against the L.A. Lakers the next day, on Oct. 10 in Staples Center.
