COOPERSTOWN, N.Y. (AP) — The Baseball Hall of Fame is getting five new members today. Former stars Tim Raines, Ivan "Pudge" Rodriguez, and Jeff Bagwell, longtime baseball executive John Schuerholz and former commissioner Bud Selig are being inducted this afternoon in Cooperstown.

UNDATED (AP) — Adrian Beltre (BEHL'-tray) needs one more hit for the 3,000th of his career. The Rangers third baseman is on deck to become the 31st major leaguer to reach the milestone. He got No. 2,999 last night in Texas, and will try to hit the mark at home this afternoon against Baltimore lefty Wade Miley.

BUDAPEST, Hungary (AP) — Caeleb Dressel tries to make history for the second night in a row when he swims for gold on the U.S. 4x100 medley relay team at the world championships. The 20-year-old can join Michael Phelps as the only swimmers to win seven gold medals at the worlds. Yesterday he became the first swimmer ever to win three gold medals on a single night at the championships.

BUDAPEST, Hungary (AP) — American Lilly King has set another swimming world record as she won the gold medal in the 50-meter breaststroke today at the world championships. King set a record in the 100 breaststroke earlier at the worlds. Steve LoBue also won gold for the U.S. today in men's high diving.

BRIDGEND, Wales (AP) — Bernhard Langer has won the Senior British Open for a third time. The 59-year-old German star closed with an even-par 72 to finish at 4-under 280, beating American Corey Pavin by three strokes. It's Langer's 10th senior major title. He and Jack Nicklaus are the only players to win three senior majors in a season, and won the event for the third time to match the tournament record.
