COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — The Ohio State Buckeyes opened training camp still stinging from the humiliating season-ending loss to eventual national champion Clemson. Questions will linger in camp about the quality of the passing game, whether the offensive line can protect quarterback J.T. Barrett, and whether Barrett can return to form under a new offensive coordinator and complete deep passes to mostly untested wide receivers.

UNDATED (AP) — Hall of Fame coach Ara Parseghian has returned to his home in Granger, Indiana, after spending more than a week in a nursing care facility because of an infection in his surgically repaired hip. The 94-year-old former Notre Dame and Northwestern coach is still receiving 24-hour care, said Paul Flatley, who played for Parseghian at Northwestern from 1960-62.

OMAHA, Neb. (AP) — Tom Osborne is giving up his large skybox at Memorial Stadium, saying the Nebraska athletic department should sell it to someone else rather than have him continue to use it for free. Osborne coached the Cornhuskers for 25 years, retiring after the 1997 season with 255 wins and all or part of three national championships three of his last four years. He said the decision doesn't mean there's friction between him and the school.

UNDATED (AP) — The traditional two-a-day football practices of yesteryear are a thing of the past. The NCAA approved a plan this year that prevents teams from holding multiple practices with contact in a single day. Officials are hoping the rule change reduces the head injuries that had become all too common this time of year.

ANN ARBOR, Mich. (AP) — Waleed Samaha is leaving his position as Michigan's director of basketball operations. The Wolverines hired him in 2016 after a long tenure as a basketball coach at Huron High School.
