BOISE, Idaho (AP) — Gubernatorial hopeful and Lt. Gov. Brad Little outlined the first details of his economic plan to reduce regulations on Idaho companies and create more job opportunities for Idaho's young workers. Little delivered his plan Wednesday outside the recently competed $70 million Simplot Co. complex in downtown Boise in an attempt to position himself as the GOP contender who can connect Idaho's past accomplishments to future growth.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — A federal judge in Oregon has sentenced a man to more than 2 years in prison for illegally possessing a fully automatic machine gun. Michael Emry pleaded guilty in January. He acknowledged he stole the weapon in Idaho and obliterated its serial number. Emry has ties to Ammon Bundy. Bundy led the January 2016 takeover of the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge. Emry traveled to Oregon in a van owned by Bundy and stayed with him shortly before the takeover.

BOISE, Idaho (AP) — Federal officials have given a giant airtanker approval to fight wildfires in the U.S., but a lack of contracts currently limits the aircraft to California and one county in Colorado. The U.S. Department of Agriculture's Interagency Airtanker Board issued the approval on Tuesday.

BOISE, Idaho (AP) — The Idaho Department of Fish and Game has proposed putting bounties on problem wolves and allowing hunters to lure wolves with bait. The Capital Press reports that the department's Wolf Depredation Control Board has discussed how best to take action against the wolves' high numbers where livestock and big game killings by wolves is most rampant.
