UNDATED (AP) — The Milwaukee Brewers kept their half-game lead over the Chicago Cubs in the NL Central. Zach Davies pitched into the eighth inning and Travis Shaw slammed a three-run homer as the Brewers blanked Washington, 8-0 to cut the Nationals' lead in the NL East to 11 ½ games over Atlanta. The Cubs are 9-2 since the All-Star break after Willson Contreras belted a three-run homer and drove in four runs to lead a 7-2 win against the White Sox.

UNDATED (AP) — The New York Yankees are within one game of the first-place Red Sox in the AL East after the Mariners scored twice off Doug Fister in the bottom of the 13th to pull out a 6-5 win against Boston. Ben Gamel scored the tying run on a wild pitch with two out and Jean Segura followed with a walk-off single. Jordan Montgomery took a no-hitter into the sixth inning and Didi Gregorius (DEE'-dee greh-GOHR'-ee-uhs) drove in two runs as the Yankees doubled up the Reds, 4-2.

UNDATED (AP) — The Indians coughed up a 7-0 lead before Edwin Encarnacion (ehn-kahr-nah-see-OHN') belted a grand slam in the 11th inning of Cleveland's 11-7 victory over the Los Angeles Angels. Bradley Zimmer also hit a grand slam for the Indians, whose lead in the AL Central remains 1 ½ games ahead of Kansas City. Whit Merrifield homered and the Royals picked up their seventh straight win by downing the Tigers, 3-1.

UNDATED (AP) — The Los Angeles Dodgers whipped the Twins, 6-2 behind Chris Taylor's two doubles and three RBIs. Kenta Maeda (mah-EH'-dah) gave up one earned run and five hits over five innings as the Dodgers won their fourth in a row to stretch their lead in the NL West to 12 ½ games over Arizona and Colorado. The Twins' fourth straight loss drops them 4 ½ games off the AL Central lead.

UNDATED (AP) — The Houston Astros improved to an American League-best 67-33 as Charlie Morton combined with three relievers on a four-hitter with 12 strikeouts in a 5-0 shutout of Philadelphia. Morton fanned nine while tossing three-hit ball over seven innings to help the Astros maintain a 17-game lead in the AL West. Houston broke it open with a four-run sixth, capped by Derek Fisher's two-run single.
