PAYETTE, Idaho (AP) — One person died Saturday in a small plane crash in southwestern Idaho.

The Payette County Sheriff's Office says the plane crashed at about 11:30 a.m. about 1 mile (1.6 kilometers) from the Payette Airport.

The name of the person who died hasn't been released. It's not clear if there were additional people aboard.

Federal officials are responding to investigate the crash.
