OROFINO, Idaho — A teen who was reported missing after a high school prom has been found safe.

Kristian Perez, 17, was located in an Orofino home around 12:45 a.m. Tuesday, according to the Orofino Police Department. The home belongs to 26-year-old Tyson Imel and police say they were led there after receiving a tip.

Perez was taken into custody on a misdemeanor runaway charge, according to authorities. Police say Imel could face criminal charges for providing assistance to Perez.

Perez was reported missing by his mother on April 15 after leaving the Orofino High School prom around 9:30 p.m.

Perez had driven to the prom with a relative and his tuxedo jacket, one shoe, and his broken cellular phone were later recovered near the vehicle they rode in.
