WEST JORDAN, Utah (AP) — Utah residents looking to buy a home or condo are finding an increasingly thin inventory as demand outpaces supply. It's a trend that has mayors, real estate professionals and home builders concerned. There were more houses in Utah than there was demand from 1970 to 2010, according to one analysis. But the need has since outpaced inventory, and tens of thousands of Utah residents are now searching for houses or condos that don't exist.

HEBER CITY, Utah (AP) — A former wife of actor Charlie Sheen has taken a plea deal on charges she wouldn't stop her car for police. Citing court records, the Deseret News reports that Brooke Mueller pleaded guilty Wednesday to a misdemeanor charge of attempted failure to stop at police command. Two other charges were dropped.

SOUTH SALT LAKE, Utah (AP) — Firefighters had to tear down a South Salt Lake house to battle a blaze that's now left seven people displaced. Officials said the fire started about 5 a.m. Sunday.

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — The state of Utah has asked a federal judge to dismiss a lawsuit over its decision to fine a theater for serving alcohol during a sexually explicit movie. KUTV-TV reports that state regulators fined Salt Lake City theater Brewvies in April 2016 for serving alcohol during the movie "Deadpool." The Utah Attorney General's Office argues that prohibiting alcohol during movies with sexual content does not violate the theater's First Amendment rights.
